Drum Roll Please!

I started out thinking that after the last quilt giveaway and giving extra entries for different completed tasks and all that it would be easier to write all the entries on pieces of paper and then draw the winners from the hat. Actually, from my giant Mason jar.

But after looking at the numbers . . . and quickly falling behind . . . I opted for the trusty random number generator thingy. Take a look at these numbers that were swimming around in my head:

-- 2,940 comments on the quilt giveaway blog post;

-- 1,500 of the said entrants earned an extra 5 chances for blogging about it (1,500 x 5 = 7,500) ;

-- 2,402 of said entrants earned an extra 5 chances for posting the graphic in their sidebar (2401 x 5 = 12,010) ;

-- 36 of said entrants earned an extra 50 chances for submitting a video to YouTube that made at least one member of my family laugh . . . which if you do the math is 1,800 total extra chances.

Add all this up people and that means that there were 24,250 chances in the big ole' Mason jar. I was averaging 60 names per piece of standard copy paper so that would mean that I would burn through over 405 pieces of paper just to do it that way. It was then that I embraced the Random Number Generator idea.

Poor Mason jar.

So, we did the same mathematical wonderment that Razor devised for the last quilt giveaway and now I have the winners.

The quilt winner is the one assigned to number 9323 which corresponds to comment number 58 which read:

Sarah Pead said... Here's my "comment entry." You better believe I'll be putting a link on my Xanga blog, my Facebook, and my blogspot. Oh...and... I am TOTALLY making a goofy video. I have so many ideas swimming around in my head for this one!! :) The quilt is beautiful!!!!

Lucky duck Sarah did all the things to earn extra entries and they surely served her well! Congratulations Sarah!! Email me at dana@oldredbarnco.com so that I can get your shipping address. Let's just hope I don't pull a bait and switch routine and you end up with the old, tattered, musty, moth eaten quilt we found in our attic. I kid. I kid. Surely, I kid.

Next up are the winners for the $30 gift certificates to my Old Red Barn Co. store.

These are numbers 2876 which reads: Brad and Vanessa said... This is too fun to pass up!

And 12,377 which corresponds to comment 1045 which read: Megan said...

this is beautiful! you will be making someone very happy, your generosity is inspiring.

Both of you winners please email me at dana@oldredbarnco.com to claim your prizes. Congratulations!

Thank you to everyone that played this silly game this past week. It has brought much excitement to my house and made me feel rather giddy. I read each and every comment and found my cheeks hurting from the constant smile plastered on my face. Once all the dust settles I'm hoping that all of you stick around, pepper me with comments and allow me to read your blogs and get to know you as well.

I now need to enter a Dana detox and rehabilitation program. Seriously.

Dana, this was a fun week. I loved watching the videos. You should have a contest for funniest video submitted next. ;-)

Now I kid, I kid! ;-Þ

Ps-I love the new song you added to your player; I assume in honor of the contest ending. ;-)

Well, we all new that only one person could win the quilt! And fact is the odds were... well pretty high I wouldn't. Which is fine cause after backtracking and reading about Sven.... I laughed so much... my dog turned around and looked at me funny!
By the way, if you ever decide to give away the "Mason Jar"... I'm your gal! What is it, a gallon size? I've got around a dozen or so 2 1/2 quart size mason jars... I got them free from an older man who was moving into a retirement home!
Thanks for letting me play!

Woohoo! I won! I can't wait to get that big fluffy quilt in my hands! Oh and I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be creating a new personal blog so people can keep up with my personal life (the revel design blog is strictly business). Then we can be blog buddies! :)

Have a great detox! hehe!

Congratulations to each of the lucky winners! This was such a generous giveaway. Thanks for doing it! The quilt is stunning.

That is one awesome Mason jar! I collect old jars, and especially blue Mason jars. I've never seen a clear one that big.

Keep up the great work on your blog! I love it, and I'm glad I found it through this contest.

Well, I didn't win, but I had SUCH a blast making the films with my family that I don't even mind (and my sister didn't win, so there won't be any family feud).

Thanks so much for another generous offer and for adding some excitement to blogging.

Now, I just need to hunt down those fabrics and make my own quilt out of them. I think that if you do this again the fabric designer should sponsor you ;)

Congrats to all the winners! I would have loved that quilt, but after seeing the videos I saw more than one from people who were trying to win it for Love Without Bounderies. We are adopting from China and I was hoping they would win...I probably would have donated it to them. But I DIDN'T win! And that's also why I'm crying. Thanks Dana, for the chance, it was BEAUTIFUL!! :D

Hello, all of Dana's new fans,
The creation of Dana's 'magical' quilt has been phenomenol. Many of you are quilt makers yourselves; maybe you've seen Karin's plea for a quilt to donate to the auction for Love Without Borders who will use it to raise money for heart surgery for orphans in China. Just writing those last 6 words takes my breathe away.
We all wrote to Dana with our arms open to receive this wonderful gift, and now it is over, now what? It is much greater to give than to receive, I challenge every quilt maker out there to see if there is something they can do to send Karin a quilt for her cause: http://www.jacobsjourneyhome.blogspot.com/
hugs,
Yvonne
