So anyway, I'm a little scattered today.
This is my December block for the Busy Little Bee virtual quilting bee. It is for Stephanie and she specifically wanted red crosses on a field of white. Can't wait to see her finished quilt.
Laundry is about to be the death of me. I might institute a new rule in my house. Each item of clothing must be worn twice before it can go in the hamper. No exceptions.
And really. Aren't clean sheets overrated?
Ummmmmm. I'm in another quilting bee called A Notion or Two. It is just getting started this month so not much to share on that front. But you can always click on the button over on the left sidebar here to see what we are up to. The people participating are all so very inspiring so I know it will be a great way to stretch my creativity.
I found these wool sweaters at a thrift shop while in Savannah over Christmas. I paid $1 each. I plan on felting them and using them in some future project.
It's Girl Scout cookie time again and guess who got suckered into being "Cookie Mom" this year?

These are the buttons from one of the aforementioned sweaters. I would've paid more than $1 just for the buttons.
Have you ever used Triangles on a Roll before? Dude! They rock my world. Like totally. For sure.
And finally, am I the only one in the whole wide world that feels compelled to pluck my eyebrows daily?

Eyebrow maintenance is important. Pluck away.
Used wool sweaters are never a dollar here. 5 if youre lucky. Happy felting.

Girl scout cookies are the best! I sold them for like five years, one of the years I think I sold something like 1700 boxes, I went to alot of awesome camps from selling cookies:) Good Luck being cookie Mom!

I laughed at your laundry situation. I'm sitting in front of MOUNDS of laundry that need to be folded (not to mention all the laundry in the hamper too).
That block is beautiful - that will be an amazing quilt.

I go in spurts with my laundry situation - some weeks I keep up and others it won't stop coming - I feel your pain! I really love that stripy sweater, and the other reminds me of the Scandinavian town I grew up in - beautiful. Will you felt them into pillows!? or hats!? there's so many options :)

you are cracking my can here AGAIN! hmmm...let's go backward.... i have actually been SO compelled to pluck my eyebrows daily that they got too thin! letting them grow back a bit now. those sweaters are going to ROCK felted. laundry is the death of me as well.. try adding in a little boy who pees himself almost every day plus diapers and you would be... well, me. pin ball. tense, nervous, twitchy, all over the place crazy. yup. pinball brain. i've got it too. i've got it BAAAAD....
Plucking your eyebrows can be very therapeutic - after all when finished you can cross one thing off your list...yes? My downfall is plucking gray hairs - those never seem to end...
our rule is:
if you can see it or smell it, it goes in the laundry hamper. otherwise, fold it up and put it away!
The sweaters you found are wonderful, as is that block it's awesome! I hope you can find your pace, I know I've been trying to find mine for a few years, I think you have more hope than I do.
I may be a little goofy, but I love doing laundry and ironing. It's so relaxing (to me)! It smells great too. Maybe you need a little lavender on your pillow to mellow you out.
Ok I hear ya, laundry has been on going for two days now and i still have it sittin in front of the washer...Love those buttons!!! think this whole week is going to be scattered for me, just opened a shop on etsy and am totally obsessed with seeing all i can there, i have to make myself walk away from the computer...lol

My mother-in-law plucked every day, any time of day, all day, especially at night, lying in bed....not only her eyebrows but especially her mustache!
Laundry gets better when they are old enough to do their own!! Yes, it is incredibly wonderful and one of your daughters looks old enough already.
My mother used to wash the sheets every week....but I have not kept up that tradition since my kids have left home (ok, 2 of them came back, but that doesn't count)and I don't think we have suffered anything from it.
One thing that helps is if you fold the clothes as you pull them out of the dryer...then it is done!
I'm so jealous you can find old sweaters for $1!! The thrift shops here are silly - the jumpers are practically full price!! And I'm probably a little lazy with my eyebrows ;-)
Neat sweaters-somewhere recently I saw where you could make felted bags out of wool sweaters-they looked really neat.
The eyebrows-if I didn't pluck everyday-I'd look like Bert from Sesame Street!
I always buy wool sweaters when I find them at the thrift stores! And I've felted a bunch of them.
The problem? I can't sew a lick. haha!
So I have stacks of sweaters and no clue what to do with them. ??

Yep, yep, scattered...EVERYDAY!!! Wait, what were we talking about? Oh and eyebrows? I HATE having strays...so yes, EVERYDAY is a good thing.
