Latest quilt

My quilt is back from my long arm quilter Russ and I'm over the moon in love with it.

Late last summer I designed some fabric and had it printed at Spoonflower. I've decided that every quilt I make in 2009 will have a bit of it on the back. Then each year I'll design a new fabric so as to identify the year I made it. Know what I'm sayin'?

I've got a series of fabric in my head to design . . . if I could only figure out how to make the seamless repeat on it. Unfortunately, that is at the way, way bottom of my to-do list.

What a great idea to chronicle your work! Brilliant.
The quilt is every bit of over the moon. I need 'Dana' lessons. I did find the pattern I am going to use for my first quilt attempt since acquiring my sewing machine. I can't wait.

LOVE this Dana! Those pinwheels with the fussy cut corners - bliss! and of course the signature on the back is ingenious - will there be anything more to a label?

That is amazing. I just made my second quilt, and decided I would never do it again. And it was baby sized.

Now I have to go try it out again! Curses!

Amazing!! I busted out my granny's sewing machine the other day instead of buying myself a brand new one. You know, since I don't even know how to thread the darn thing....

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I love your idea of identifying each quilt's year by your own fabric. In the words of Yoda, "So clever are you!"

I *love* it! And I love the quirkiness of putting in a piece of fabric that doesn't "go" with it. What a great way to chronicle your fabric!

How many quilts do you own?
How many do you think you have made?

Fantastic!
Great idea with the fabric.

What a cool thing to do--print your own fabric design! I've never heard of them before. Thanks for sharing that.

And a terrific idea about chronicling. Should, God forbid, anything of yours ever be stolen, it would be a cinch to identify it and reclaim it.
