We've had H1N1 and we're just fine

The girls have been out of school all week due to the flu. The CDC and flu.gov say that more than 99% of anyone with the flu right now has H1N1. That means us.

But really I have seen the girls much sicker before. They have had fevers and sore throats. A few headaches. That's it. Licious had a fever of about 101-102 degrees for four days. Boo had about 99-100 degrees for four days. Now a juicy cough and runny nose remains. Our doctor figures that Razor and I had it first but it was even milder for us. For the past couple of weeks we have just felt more tired than normal and I've had several headaches. A little cold for a few days too.

We are past the fevers so the doctors say we are no longer contagious. And what is even better . . . now we don't have to worry about it.

Thanks for all the well wishes!

So glad to hear this! I'm really getting tired of the media on thie H1N1. I know that it can be dangerous- so can normal influenza. But I dont think we need to freak out. I'm glad that everyone is better in your house!

Sorry to hear that your girls have been feeling sick. I guess it's good they went thru it at the same time - go ahead and get it over with..

Love the bright colored quilt block above - did you use a foundation? Have a great weekend recovering!

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

you were sooo blessed as many do end up in the hospital. I ended up with walking phenomia and took eons to get rid of. July and August were lost to me.. but oh well, if I had it during the hot icky months of the year.. that was much better then now!

Glad to see you're on the mend!

I just had the flu last weekend too. I also heard the quote about 99% meaning H1N1, so, like you, I assume that was me, and that now it's done! Not too bad at all. And, there's this awesome herbal medicine called Oscillococcinum. It cuts the length and severity of the flu...it's a wonder drug!

PS...I like the picture!

OMG!! Ok, you are hilarious! Not with the flu, I'm sure, but I'll get to that... I just found a moment to read back through a few of your older posts and lo and behold - there you are - first thing in the morning! Ha! Good for you and I've gotta say you're a much braver gal than I am!! I guess that little dare of mine paid off for you because now I'm going to send you a little giftie as my way of saying "way to go!"... so if you pass your addy on to me, I'll pop a little som'in in the mail for you!

And, I'm so sorry you were all such sickies! But I'm glad everyone came through it OK and you're on the mend!

So... have a great afternoon! Email me your addy! (And I LOVE your block!!)

So does that mean you don't need the H1N1 shot? Glad you're feeling ok :)

"Juicy cough".....ugh...thanks for the shutter that gave me when I read it!;) But seriously, glad to hear you are all on the mend. I heard that the no fever not contagious is not true for H1N1 but that you need to not have that cough any more so watch out for that.

I think I heard that once youve had the mild version you wont get a meaner one if it comes. That would be nice to get something out of this, immunity.

we just had it as well. I felt ok. My husband got hit the hardest but two days later he was much better. The littles still have runny noses and a cough. It could have been much worse. The boys were running around snorting like pigs the whole time. what little riots! SWINE FLU!

So glad you're all feeling better! Umm that makes me think I had H1N1 if 99% of ppl who've had the flu recently had that. Maybe my hubs was right to keep oinking at me... he's nice huh?

I had it last week and still this week I get weird aches in my legs. They started in my hips and just moved on down. I'm not sure where they'll go after they get done with my feet. Maybe they'll fall out of my shoes! :)

So glad you're feeling better. I imagine people have it that don't know it's H1N1. Hope everyone's back to normal soon.

Glad you guys are feeling better - it's no fun when there's sick about! Here's to a healthy rest of the fall!!

What a relief to hear you guys are getting better. Sounds like a miserable way to spend a few days!

Good to have that out of the way. We actually had a lot less flu deaths in New Zealand this winter because people actually stayed home when they were sick, which of course they should do anyhow.

I bet the flu didn't change your gorgeous looks (scrolled back). Glad to hear that you are all on the mend.

I'm so glad you are feeling better! I think the worst part of a family getting sick is one person gets better, then another gets sick, then one gets better, then another gets sick, so it seems to drag on forever! And then of course being the Mom and being sick and still having to care of everyone else :)

Your block for Lolly is cute!

And I got your fun package in the mail today! Thank You, Thank you! I love every bit of it, you should have seen me opening it with my whole family around me. Everyone had to look at every piece of cute fabric, even my husband! Now I have to figure out what to make with it!

Dana, you are awesome! I am glad to be your friend!

Glad everyone's better and it wasn't serious. I'm leery about getting flu shots for me and the kids. I'm hoping we can get through the year and stay healthy!

We just got over it to. The twins had the 103.4 fever, lasting on and off for about 4 days. Mine was milder but the headaches were the killers! Glad to hear you guys faired well. We, too, are still trying to dry up from the sinus stuff it left behind.
