Finding time

This time of year gets busy. But I'm not so busy that I feel rushed or stressed out. I just am busy doing other things besides blogging.

Attending parties. Baking cookies. Crafting and quilting.

Tending to puppies. Planning menus.

Wrapping presents. Making phone calls.

Going on long hikes. Working out extra hard in anticipation of all the food I will be eating over the next two weeks.

And just really trying to be present in the moment. Trying to enjoy the season. Letting myself slow down enough to be as excited as my children about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Charlie Brown Christmas and every other magical thing that comes with the season.

And photographing this sweet group of siblings. As a surprise for their Daddy for Christmas.

Wow, how wonderful that you can give yourself the gift of being in the moment. I have to work really hard to do that. I've been getting all swept up in the tasks and timelines, and then I lose the joy and feel overwhelmed. Then I have to remember why I'm doing all this--for love and family--and that it's supposed to be FUN not perfect. Oh...yeah...duh! Thanks for your post!

If I ever make it to your part of the world, we must be sure to take photos from one another. You love to take photos just like me, so it would be interesting with what portraits we come up. :) Besides, I am sure you would love to have a few family portraits of your family INCLUDING you for a change, wouldn't you?

Dana, in case I don't get around to write another note before Christmas, I just want to let you know that I wish you and your whole family the happiest of Christmas along with a big thanks of keeping such a fine blog and allowing so many interesting glimpses into your life and creative projects. I truly enjoy visiting your blog and know that you are a kindred spirit. How did you put it the other day? It does the heart good. :)

Hugs,
Birgit

i hear ya...finally got off packages to tori and max. tori's fit in the flatrate but max's was the big tonka and in the dumper was more small presents...it cost more to ship that it cost to buy...not only cause no flat rate box big enough but it was oversized. oh well...he is going to flip over the truck and goodies especially his batmax sheets for his youth bed i made him. i still have stuff to make for tori and max but tori's birthday is in january so she will get the stuff then and max will just keep getting stuff here and there. i have the cricut expression and they are coming out with a batman cartridge...i will have fun with that. if he has batman themem birthday in august i can make all the invitations and party favors and stuff. i have a smaller one i want to sell without cartrideges brand new. mark would have a cow if he knew i had too...what can i say. have a very happy christmas and i love the teapot.
