Feeling crafty

Lately we have been feeling crafty. I know that all I can think about is the quilt I'm finishing and hurrying so that I can start the next. And the girls must be feeling it too because almost everyday they want to haul out all the art supplies.

They suggest Mod Podge. And I am more than happy to oblige. I do have a special fondness for Mod Podge after all.

We get everything out. And a quiet falls over the house as we each get busy. Well, it must be quiet sounding to an outsider. But there is flash of color and inspiration dancing through my head. And a sort of internal happy humming. And by watching my girls, I think it must be the same for them too.

And knowing that only makes the happy humming louder. And causes happy dances to break out inside my head.

If there is anything better than having time to create, it is having time to create with my kids.

Dana,

So glad you have the creative bug! I'm hoping it will bite me too - just as soon as I get the rest of the Christmas decorations put away. :oP

So true!
bought my dear girl a sewing machine for Christmas--she didn't want to know how it all worked--she just started pulling fabric out and started it humming!
She's 5 and said very plainly " I don't need to know how to thread it mommy, that's your job. I just want to sew"

It was actually that post where you posted your daughte's quilt square she had worked on herself that inspired me to get my daughter moving in the same direction :)

I would love to know more about your crafty projects with the girls as my kids would love to be crafting with me and I haven't dug out the Modge Podge. Are you using fabric there or paper?

I miss those days. At least my girl still likes to craft and create. She outdoes me most days. When we get together now, it's happy craziness.

Totally lovely. Hunter and I appliqued a train/car mat today. I think I had more fun, though ;)

I love your table and green chairs! Beautiful! Have you by chance heard of or tried PPA (Perfect Paper Adhesive)? I was a lover of Mod Podge also, until I tried PPA. It's not sticky like Mod Podge is, and one bottle of PPA will do what several bottles of mod podge does.
