"I Wish I Was at Quilt Market" Giveaway

Quilt Market is a quilt industry trade show that happens twice a year.  It is at Market where all the new fabric lines are introduced and first made available for order and sale.

I wish I was at Quilt Market.  Cause it was from Friday through today.  And it would've been really cool to see the sights.

How about an "I Wish I Was at Quilt Market" giveaway?  How about two different prize packs for two separate winners who are wishing they were at Quilt Market too?

Prize #1:   My friend Kari of Fresh Cut Quilts Pattern Co. (who is at Market by the way.  that little stinker.) has just written a pattern book called TidBits from Triangles.    Kari is generously giving away a copy of her book as well as a layer cake of the above pictured fabric called Adoring by Sandy Gervais.

Prize #2:  How about this uber-cute block of the month quilt pattern called Jolly Stockings?  Also from Kari.  That little stinker.  Plus, four fat quarters from the Berry Me fabric line.

Good stuff.

Thanks for offering it up Kari.  Even though I kinda sorta hate you for being at Quilt Market.  But kinda sorta not since you did offer to pick me up something special at the sample spree.  I actually kinda sorta love you for that.

Here's the 411 . . . leave a comment here and travel over to Kari's blog and leave a comment there too.  You have until Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 6pm US EDST.  International entries are welcome.  The two winners will be chosen by random draw.   But if you've been around here long enough you know I usually pick some more winners based on comments that make me laugh.  Just sayin'.

Good luck!

-dana

Aw, Dana, you're in just as good company with the rest of us non-Marketers. :) Awesome giveaway!

I'm an unlucky ducky, that wasn't allowed to play with the big girls in MN! But I have brownies cooking in the oven and they don't!

thanks for the giveaway, Dana! At least we were able to get some rest this weekend, right?

Quilt market? The only market I ever get to go to is the super-market! And really...what's so super about that?

Jenny said...

raise my glass high that maybe one day I will be able to experience market too! i seriously would be so star struck!! thanks for the giveaways..never too early to think about Christmas projects!

I didn't make it to quilt market either. But I did get to enjoy a snow free backyard for the first time in 9 months. :)

I'd love to be a Whiney McWhinerson today and cry about not being at quilt market. Not that I own a store. Or even quilt a lot either. Shoot, I don't even have a store I sell my wares in! Doesn't sound like I need quilt market does it. But thanks to this wonderful little flicker world called ORBQ, I have been bitten by the "good" fabric bug! Oh, who am I kidding. I would have liked to have a weekend away from my seven children! Just a few days to grow fonder...

I am jealous of all those who went to quilt market... but at the same time, I think it would be overwhelming. I wouldn't even know where to start. I guess I'll just enjoy looking at other people's pictures. sigh.

Luv 2 Kreate said...

I didn't get to go to Market either...NOOOOO I got to sweat my tail end off in the backyard cutting back trees and pulling weeds...How is that fair??? Instead of having my hands full of fabric samples I have hands full of blisters!

Kimberly said...

Don't I always make you laugh... come on... you know I do...

Heck, sometimes I even make myself laugh!

Molly said...

I wish I was at quilt market with you. We'd have a ball there whoopin' it up!!! The ORB gang should show up full force and show them people what's what in the quilting world! Then you'd see ME slinking away in shame ....

Jennifer said...

Oh, I am jealous too, and I don't even sell anything that would qualify me to attend a market! I do look forward to all the market posts on blogs though! It is good surfing for the next few weeks!

Alice said...

I think we should have our own little pity party. It is very sweet of you to bring the gifts!

I didn't get to go either...and I am sew...sew...sad! Although it is probably a good thing because I haven't figured out how to leave for home with enough $$ left for the plane (?bus?) ride home....woe is me!

Gale Yawn said...

Well I'm just saying those folks who went to market had better bring back a ton of the good stuff for us to buy and they'd better have it on their websites really soon. You know what I'm sayin? Just lookin at all the pictures they've posted have given me anxiety attacks! I want it all. But I'd settle for a nice freebie from you right now.

Is going to market all it's cracked up to be??? Really?? Really?? Oh sure, the ladies are all smiling in the pictures b/c they are standing next to quilting celebs and all, but you know that's all staged don't you?? Yep, those are really cardboard cutouts posted in the booths to make it look like the real thing!!! Yeah, you're right...it would be ubercool to go to market and soak in all of the inspirationg & excitement...I just thought I would try the sour grapes approach, better luck next time, huh??? But the question remains...did you at least chuckle??

The one thing I really do want to see is the sample spree. Sounds like a shoe sale at Barneys, or the opening of a Nordstrom Rack, or discount day in Filene's basement. All of which satisfy the huntress in me, cuz' you know, it was on sale. See how much money I saved!

Thanks for the giveaway!

"I Wish I Was at Quilt Market"
Sheeeesh, I can't think of a good reason why!!
Oh!
Now wait just a darn minute.
Does having the neighbor's tree go through their front door (see post) and my hubby who's only home for 30 hours fix that, count?
OR
How about the twin to the tree that did the damage threatening to crash into our house and said hubby telling kids to stay on other side of house, which totally freaked out my one son thinking we were goners and having to calm him down while fretting about said now "cracking" tree, count?
OR
How about that as the evening wore on the water coming out of the tap was diminishing to a little piddle stream and then zilch and there was still hubby's work clothes to wash because he was leaving at the crack of dawn, count?
OR
How about waking up in the morning and still NO water, count?
Calgon take me away!!
Oh crap, that's right.
There's still NO STINKIN' WATER!!!
And that's why

"I Wish I Was at Quilt Market"
Thank You for letting me whine & rant.

hugs
Carolyn

You wanted to go to the Market? Are you sure?
Think about it. Your feet would hurt, the food is lousy and overpriced, you'd look at too much stuff and forget where you saw the things that you wanted to go back and get. There would be a perpetual lineup to use the ladies room and the parking lot would be full to overflowing, and a lineup to get in, another to get out . . . You didn't really want to go, did you? ;-)

Hope you enjoy the cartoon - it made me smile and remember the time when I told my husband I was going out to the quilt fabric store with my then 6 year old son He jokingly said to our boy "Make sure you take food and water and a book. Hope to see you before your next birthday". Our son said "I don't mind its the only time mom doesn't tell me I've been playing too long on my DS"
