I don't need WalMart to tell me it's Fall

Have you been to your local WalMart and seen the gargantuan display of foam like pumpkins, plastic mums and nylon orange leaves?  Blech, blech, blech-ed-i-blech- blech.

I don't need some mass retailer to tell me that the season is changing.

I only need to spend time in my yard.

Bring on layered clothes, leather boots, hot apple cider, cool mountain nights and bonfires.

I'm ready.

Sadly I don't have a Walmart close by.....just kidding.

In the 50's here last night...love it.

Happy last few days of summer

It's cooled down here, nip in the air alteady! And I'm already making blackberry jam!

I completely agree with you! All that fake foliage is so nasty to me because I can just go into my yard or hit the trails to see, smell and feel signs of fall. Speaking of that, I am ready to hit the trails, among those things you listed to. Enjoy!

I am too! Even though it's warmed back up here (Indiana) after a cool down a few weeks ago, it is definitely starting to feel and smell like fall!

Had that first nip in the air just this morning! I was over the moon! I'm not a Walmart fan, but alas, I have to shop there on occasion. Just immensely dislike it. I say bring back general stores...with soda fountains.

The name of this post literally just made me laugh out loud. Sadly in Arizona our fall gear is out when the temps are in the 110s. Gross. I can't wait for the change of the seasons here but in Maine summer never seems long enough.

Oh, love those grapes you're showing off. ;)

I'm with you, it's starting to hint that fall is around the corner and it's about time. That's my favorite season. Nip in the air, the colors, the choices of layering up or snuggling up under a quilt.

Although I did see a neat idea with those cheesy pumpkins at Walmart. A bit of spray paint and wow, it almost made me dash out to get a few.

Almost.

I think I can wait a bit. :D

Right there with you. I walked out the shop back door in Boone last week and the maple trees have a few red leaves showing. I was giddy.

I'm with you! Enough of steamy sweaty ick, on with the cool nights and bright, clear days!

And as you celebrate the return of cooler weather, I have the opposite as our temperature starts to creep up a little. I really enjoy winter but I like summer too. I just would like to have one white winter...

I live in Michigan, and fall is my favorite season. It was way too hot this summer, and I can't wait for the first day I get my sweater out!
