Fun Day Friday!

I had a busy day today. Of course, it is Friday so I taught art at the school this morning. I considered bringing my camera to take some photos of the fun that we have but then I don't have permission to post any of the kids' photographs on the Internet so I figured I better not. But, I can tell you what we did! I'm working on a fundraiser for the art program so that next year there will be some money to spend on supplies. I think this is a cool idea and the kids really thought so too! ANY money that we make will more more money that I had for supplies this year so I can't really go wrong!

After school a friend came over to play. We went to dinner last night with the whole family and I told them that I was going to take some pictures when the little one came over. Here are a few.

Her mom said that she loved them . . . but then what else is she going to say? Who doesn't love pictures of your own child? Plus, we are good friends . . . is she going to tell me that they are "interesting" right to my face?? Regardless, I had fun taking them and the little cutie seemed to have fun too. I gotta say, I think mine were FLABBERGASTED when I brought out the camera and didn't point it at them!!!

Big night tomorrow night at our house. MOVIE NIGHT! This is a special thing we do with the girls when there is something to celebrate. The older one earned some special recognition at school and the younger one read her first book all by herself. No doubt I'll have some fun stories to tell.

Until then.

I'll get this figured out eventually

Sorry about some of the photos being cut off on the right side. Seems I need to resize them a bit smaller than I am. I'll get it figured out eventually.

No pictures today as we were just too busy running errands. Although, we did stop to feed the ducks. Did you know that ducks are not crazy about "Bunny Grahams"? The trout loved them though. We also struggled with the clothes line for awhile. Mark promises me that the 3rd time is a charm. We'll see.

Since my readers are my family right now I wanted to let you know that you are always free to leave a comment about the blog (or anything for that matter). After each posting that I make, right under my sign-off name you will see a portion that says "comment". You click on that and then you can tell me to stop poking fun at you in my blog. Would I do that??

Also, I have been working for what feels like days to make and post a banner at the top of this blog instead of just the plain ole' look of "Old Red Barn Co." in text only. If anyone knows the trick to get the banner up rather than what I have please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Peace out. (hehehehe. seems just so uncool coming from me huh?)

I love spring!

What a great day we had. Must have gotten up to 80 something degrees today. We took full advantage of it and spent most of the day outside. Well, that was after we got out all of our spring and summer clothes and put away most of the winter clothes.

Two of my favorite things:

Tulips and blowing bubbles!

Progress in and around the greenhouse:

These last two pictures are of some really sweeties!

I love spring! I never consider it my favorite season but, boy, when it gets here I am happy. I can't think of a better way to spend a day.

xoxo,

A Great Life Remembered . . .

I returned home late yesterday from my quick trip to Pennsylvania.

Here was my constant companion
My brother Jeff.

It was nice to spend uninterrupted time with my brother. He makes me laugh ALOT and being in a car for 24 hours total would have been miserable without him.

I'll give you 3 guesses to figure out what he is doing here . . .

Yep. You guessed it. We had to stop ALOT for him for varied and assorted reasons. At one point even our navigation system (we affectionately named her Sessy) wondered why, when and how he became so high maintenance!!

Our trip destination was Milton, PA.

Jeff and I got to see family and friends that we have not seen in years. I met people that I had not met before . . . saw grown-up versions of people I remember from my childhood . . . visited familiar places . . . got to discuss weighty topics with incredibly interesting people (hi Randy & Elaine) . . . drank more in such a short time period then I have since college . . . and, most importantly, got to celebrate my grandmother.

My grandmother was well loved and will be missed in this life. As will my grandfather. I love you both.

It was a wonderful trip. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be reminded of where I get some of my characteristics. I am a Kaar. They are as much a part of me as anything else. It is great to be reminded of that from time to time.

Cheers!

Road Trip

My brother and I are headed out early tomorrow morning for a quick trip to Pennsylvania. My dear grandmother, Jane, passed away recently and we will be attending her memorial service. Our Dad, Uncle and many cousins will be there . . . plus some of their new children that we have never met. I wish the occasion was a happier one but knowing the Kaar clan, there will be laughs, smiles, love and martinis shared by all. I hope to get some photos to capture the event.

Until we get back . . . adios!
