New to me

I bought these glasses several years ago at a local thrift shop.

And I recently found these to match.

I love thrift stores.

Isn't that lovely? I could see a quilt in the blue from the glasses.. Inspired by... gosh... what is she called again.. She was featured on Sewn not long ago with all the green leaves... Ingrid?? ...??? You could do that with blue leaves and flower inbetween... I just see it!

I love thrift stores and in California we have a lot of them. Great way to get fabric. It is amazing, you get sheets, shirts, curtains, dresses, all great for fabric for quilting. My problem is, I buy even if I don't need. Oh well, great bargins.

lucky you with those glasses!! I have about a hundred pieces of the set. Several of my glasses have been broken, unfortunately. I believe I'm only missing the butter plate and cover and the tea pot. Enjoy!!

I knew we were kindred souls....I have ONE plate just like that and I love it soooo Many years ago when we cleaned out my grandma's place getting her ready to move into a nursing home I came across that one plate and it has been a favorite ever since....that is our birthday cake plate! Getting ready to put another cake on it this weekend since we will be celebrating 4 birthdays on Saturday!!:)

Those were definitely the dishes my mom had. We lived in the St. Louis area, if that makes any difference. We had them for years and years until she replace them with an all brown pattern.

How stinkin cute! How fun to find the matching dishes, especially years later!
I did that once with some plates, only it was the same day at two different places. One store had 4 dinner plates and another store had 4 dessert plates.

My mother has this set, but it's not in great shape. It was used a lot and loved. I don't think there are any glasses left. I'll have to ask her where and when she bought them.

Once in a while, one comes across a great find in an op shop (thrift store). My favourite one is still my watermelon cup and teapot set:-)

AWESOME!! You must have some great thrift stores near you or some great luck. I never find big sets like that. I have a wonderfully hideous mash up of dishes though because I can never pass them up.
